                        Chakra Balancing & Koshas Class

                      Sunday January 15th from 1~5 pm

     *(Class has reached its Full Size) Will teach again April 1st!)

Learn how to cleanse and balance your chakras as you become in tune with your Koshas, sheaths.  Koshas are the container to our existence.

In this class we will use diagrams, meditation, colors, characteristics of emotions related to each organ, bija mantra sounds, and anointment of the chakras with oils.

During this session you will learn a routine on how to give and receive a chakra balancing session!

You will leave filled with awareness, light, and a spiritual connection to your physical and emotional self. 

Come in comfortable clothing and wear a loose fitting top or sports bra for chakra anointing.

The Art of External Bastis (cleansing) Preparation & Application

             February 26th, 2012 @ 1 - 5 p.m.    

This is a hands on workshop: You will learn how to prepare and administer Netra (eye) Basti, Hrid (heart) Basti, and Kati (low back) Basti. The bastis are made from chapati flour.  The flour becomes a well or dam designed to hold different oils to promote healing to the specific area it is applied.  You will practice on fellow students under the guidance of Nickole Thornton Gonzales.

After this class, you will feel confident to advance in your practice with your new innovative skills to meet your expectations and the needs of your clients.  Bastis unique healing modalities provide alternative health care to restore our nervous system, muscular memory, and emotional well- being to prevent disease and return our body back to optimal health.

*Anyone can learn the basic principles of Ayurveda to empower              

themselves and others.

1 Intro to Ayurveda:

Come and explore the ancient healing practices of Ayurveda.

Sunday,  March 4th, 2012~ 2-5 p.m.

You will learn the fundamental principles of Ayurveda.  This class will focus on the 5-element theory, 3-doshas (vata, pitta and kapha), including their locations and expressions throughout the body. You will discover your unique physical/mental/emotional constitution and some ways through diet and lifestyle that will assist in balancing your dosha

2 Six Stages of Digestion and Our Emotions          

Sunday,  March 11th, 2012 ~ 2-5 p.m.

This class will guide you on how to use the six tastes in your diet to create proper absorption of food consumption and to balance our emotions.  We will look at emotions and relate them to the organs.  You will be able to restore your body to optimal health.

3 Spice Up Your Life and Improve Your Health

 Sunday, March 18th, 2012 ~ 2-5 p.m

In this class we will go over the medicinal properties of simple/common spices and herbs.  Trish will demonstrate 5 different ways to incorporate spices in your life. Spice jam, spice oil, dried spice mix, spiced candy, and a spiced drink or two.  You will make traditional Ayurvedic spice blends that are best for your constitution an learn what spices are good for the digestive system, respiratory system, circulation and how you can tell a spice's action/use by its taste.  Fresh ground spices make a huge difference in the flavor of your food and will help to improve your overall health!

5 Release Stress Through Ayurveda

Sunday, April 15th 2012 ~ 2-5 p.m.

Reduce your stress levels and increase your sense of flow and joy.  Learn to stay calm and grounded during life’s ups and downs.  We will use several techniques durning this class.  Such as breath exercise, meditation, and EFT (emotional freedom technique) to incorporate into your daily life.  We will also address dietary changes.

 6 Ayurvedic Nutrition

Ayurveda offers wisdom and insight into which foods will balance each individual.  You will learn about food combining, proper eating habits to cultivate optimal nutrition, and tools to boost your digestive fire.  What and how you eat will no longer be a mystery!

7 Pranayam: Breath Exercises for Optimum Health

Sunday, May 6th, 2012 ~ 2-5 p.m.

Prana is vital, life sustaining energy.  We take in Prana through our breath. Pranayam means harnessing this vital energy force by control and expansion of Breath. Through certain breathing practices we can control, enhance and channel this energy to enjoy optimum health.  In this three hour workshop we will try to understand physiology of Pranayam from Western perspective as well as Ayurvedic perspective.  Learn What, Why, How and When different Pranayam practices should be used.  This will be an interactive, experiential and enjoyable workshop.

The intention of the material covered in each class is to deeply enrich your life with a strong understanding and practical application of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom.  All of the classes are designed to address various levels of knowledge, interest and skill.

       The following classes are taught by Nickole Thornton and Bethanie Sand of NW Ayurveda, Kael Balizer of Life In Balance Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Center and Dr. Dhaval Dhru of Pacific Northwest Ayurvedic Center. 

          The cost of each class is $45 per person.  Enroll in all 7 classes and receive one class for free, total cost is $225.  We require a minimum of six students to R.S.V.P. to teach the classes as planned. You most pre-pay before attending all of our class.
